Note: Election experience is required for Presiding Deputy Returning Officer and preferred for Assistant Presiding Deputy Returning Officer (PDRO) and Deputy Returning Officer (DRO). 

 

Workers who are 16-17 years of age are only eligible to work as Information Officer (IO) or Counting Officer (CO). 

Responsible for quality assurance and assisting the PDRO with supervision and conduct of the voting station.

Responsible for helping voters deposit their ballots, maintaining the secrecy of the vote, and thanking voters for voting.

The Counting Officer is responsible for counting ballots at the end of the night after the polls have closed. 

Responsible for assisting voters in the completion of the elector register, communicating eligibility to the voter and issuing ballots.

Responsible for greeting voters, confirming voters are in the right voting station, notifying the PDRO/APDRO if a voter requires assistance, managing lines and answering questions.

The Mobile DRO will provide voting services to residents at multiple care facilities and/or shelters per day.  Responsible for assisting voters and issuing ballots.

Oversees the voting station's operations, guaranteeing secrecy of the vote and ensuring that the environment is orderly and peaceful. It is essential for the PDRO to be well versed in the roles and responsibilities for all staff members, provide them with guidance, and address their inquiries. This role includes managing the other positions and ensuring a smooth electoral process.

The Mobile PDRO will provide voting services to residents at multiple care facilities and/or shelters per day. Oversees the voting station's operations, guaranteeing secrecy of the vote and ensuring that the environment is orderly and peaceful.

Available on voting days to fill in for any of the above mentioned positions when voting stations are understaffed.
